Let’s Get Scrappy | SB1383 Marketing Campaign

CLIENT

City of Redding, Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division

OBJECTIVE

The Let’s Get Scrappy marketing campaign aimed to inform the public about California SB1383, which mandates education and outreach on organics recycling to residents, businesses, haulers, and local food banks. The campaign aimed to raise awareness and promote compliance with the new regulations.

PROCESS

As the lead animation designer, I collaborated with the team's Senior Marketing Specialist who provided pre-rendered graphics. My role involved editing these graphics to optimize them for animation purposes. Using Adobe InDesign, I imported the prepared graphics and created the animated content for the video. This process included integrating text overlays, transitions, and other visual elements to enhance clarity and engagement.

OUTCOME

The finished video was strategically published as an ad on Facebook and Instagram platforms. It reached 895 people and left 999 impressions, with 19 interactions indicating engagement with the content. The campaign successfully educated the target audience about SB1383 requirements and encouraged proactive participation in organics recycling efforts.

KEY LEARNINGS
This project deepened my expertise in transforming static graphics into dynamic animated content using Adobe InDesign. It underscored the importance of effective collaboration and adaptability in meeting campaign objectives and maximizing audience engagement through digital platforms.
