OBJECTIVE

The State of the City 2021 Brand Identity project aimed to create a cohesive visual identity for Mayor Erin Resner's State of the City Address. The branding aimed to reflect her personal aesthetics and campaign themes while conveying the message of strength and unity with the slogan "Redding—Better Together".

PROCESS

As the lead designer, I was responsible for developing the brand identity from concept to execution. Inspired by Mayor Resner's personal aesthetics and campaign materials, I crafted a logo that symbolized community unity and progress. The logo and accompanying branding materials were designed to resonate with the Mayor's vision and the audience's expectations for the State of the City Address.

Once the logo and branding elements were finalized, I created an animated version of the logo. This animation featured a changing photographic background, adding dynamic visual interest to Mayor Resner's presentation video. The animated logo reinforced the theme of unity and progress while enhancing the overall impact of the State of the City Address.

OUTCOME

The State of the City 2021 Brand Identity successfully unified visual elements with Mayor Erin Resner's message of community strength and collaboration. The animated logo, prominently featured in the presentation video, enhanced engagement and conveyed a modern, dynamic image of leadership and unity.

KEY LEARNINGS

This project deepened my expertise in creating impactful brand identities aligning with personal and organizational values. It underscored the importance of visual storytelling and dynamic design elements in effectively communicating leadership messages to the community.
